Pony's diary - Day 3

This morning when we got up, JT told me we'd be visiting hospitals to see how they are different from ones in the United States. I wasn't sure I'd like that as hospitals can be scary. But JT said it would be ok and that hospitals were a good place. Sick people go there to get better.

At the hospital, a nice doctor showed us around. The people talked about things I didn't totally understand but I noticed it was very nice and very clean.

After we left the hospital, we went to the capital city of San Jose to explore. This is an old city with lots of buildings. The people we met were nice and friendly. We ate lunch at a Pizza Hut in one of the malls. That was a surprise. But unlike around home, everything closes very early. By six o'clock in the evening, most of the business's were locked up.

We did travel to parts of the city today that weren't so nice. People didn't have much money and lived very poorly. I could tell it was hard for these folks to get by. But even then, they were very friendly and happy. They all worked together helping each other the best they could. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone did that?
